SA: IOM welcomes new SA permits for Zim migrants, calls for urgent info campaign
20 May 2009 - The International Organizations for Migration (IOM)’s Regional Representative for Southern Africa, Hans-Petter Boe, has welcomed two new measures introduced by South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs (DHA) to open more legal migration channels for Zimbabwean migrants. He has also called for urgent information dissemination to both the Zimbabwean and South African public, to enable them to understand the necessity and operation of the permits, as well as the positive impacts they can have on both countries. |
