The Center for Digital Storytelling (CDS) is an international not-for-profit organization dedicated to exploring the use of narrative and digital media in community, educational, and arts settings.

Human Rights Development Initiative

The Human Rights Development Initiative (HRDI) is a politically non-partisan, regional non-governmental, non-profit, secular human rights organisation, with an international board. It is based in Pretoria, South Africa, and is registered as a non-profit, tax exempt company and a public benefit organisation according to the laws of South Africa.

HRDI has three main programme areas viz. training, legal services and community outreach. It works with university based law clinics in Botswana, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

International Labour Organisation

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is the tripartite UN agency that brings together governments, employers and workers of its member states in common action to promote decent work throughout the world. ILO is devoted to advancing opportunities for women and men to obtain decent and productive work in conditions of freedom, equity, security and human dignity. Its main aims are to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue in handling work-related issues.

The Market Photo Workshop (MPW) is a photography educational institution which strives to create an environment in which students can learn not only the technical and conceptual facets of photography but skills for critical thinking that are integral to the understanding of contemporary photographic practice.

North Star Foundation

The North Star Foundation (NSF) is a public-private partnership that establishes a network of roadside health clinics at major truck stops and border crossings in Africa, India and Asia. Wellness Centres offer a practical, low-barrier and low-cost response to the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) among the transport industry. NSF was founded in 2006 by the international post and parcel delivery company TNT, with support from the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

Sibambene Development Communications (SDC) is an organisation specialising in communication for development. SDC’s approach to communication for development ensures that they not only develop relevant and innovative communication strategies and material but also ensure participatory, empowering and targeted processes for developing these strategies and materials.

Sonke Gender Justice Network (SGJN)

Sonke Gender Justice Network (SGJN), established in 2006, strives to create a SADC region in which men, women, youth and children can enjoy equitable, healthy, and happy relationships that contribute to the development of a just and democratic society. To achieve this, SGJN works across Southern Africa to build the capacity of government, civil society organisations and citizens to achieve gender equality, prevent gender based violence and reduce the spread of HIV and the impact of AIDS.

Soul City Institute for Health and Development Communication (Soul City-IHDC)

Soul City-IHDC is a dynamic and innovative multi-media health promotion and social change project. Through drama and entertainment, Soul City reaches more than 16 million South Africans. This is done through two main brands, Soul City, targeted at adults, and Soul Buddyz, targeted at 8-12 year olds and adults in their lives. The Regional programme of the Soul City Institute is a partnership with local organisations in eight Southern African countries.

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) 

As the global advocate on AIDS, UNAIDS leads, strengthens and supports an expanded response. It is dedicated to preventing the transmission of HIV, reducing the suffering caused by HIV and AIDS, and countering the impact of the pandemic on individuals, communities and societies.

To improve coordination and harmonisation of national responses to the epidemic, UNAIDS advocates for the 'Three Ones' principle, i.e. one agreed framework of action, one national AIDS coordinating authority with a broad-based multisectoral mandate and one agreed country level monitoring and evaluation system.

The UNAIDS Regional Support Team for Eastern and Southern Africa (RST ESA), based in Johannesburg, South Africa, provides timely and effective support to UNAIDS Country Offices, while working with regional partners to coordinate and provide programming and technical support to strengthen national responses.

World Food Programme

The World Food Programme (WFP) is a United Nations Agency mandated with providing humanitarian assistance, primarily food assistance. With more than 80 country offices across the globe, WFP relies heavily on the transport sector players in the effective execution of its mandate.
